Our Team
The story of TrainWise is more than just financial training, it’s about two people who came together after a chance encounter at a Conference in 2022. Mohammed Vadee and Erica Wicomb, both passionate about financial empowerment, shared a deep frustration with the industry’s lack of inclusivity. Their mutual belief in the power of financial literacy led them to establish TrainWise. They envisioned a future where financial advisory services extend beyond mere product offerings—where advisors understand client needs, respect diverse values, and contribute to long-term financial well-being
Mohammed Vadee
Mohammed, a seasoned expert in technology and financial services, had witnessed firsthand the significant gaps and misconceptions surrounding Islamic finance, particularly within his own community.
He saw families struggling without access to Shariah-compliant financial solutions and recognised the urgent need for accessible, ethical financial education. Driven by a commitment to empowerment and inclusion, he set out to bridge this knowledge gap, ensuring individuals and businesses could make informed financial decisions aligned with their values.
Erica Wicomb
Matched with Erica’s extensive background in sustainability, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, the partnership was a natural fit. Erica, known for her resilience and passion for empowerment, had firsthand experience navigating systemic barriers that marginalised communities face. She recognised education as a powerful tool for unlocking opportunities and was inspired by Mohammed’s mission to demystify Islamic finance.
Trainwise Bursary Fund
TrainWise is committed to transforming the financial services sector while addressing South Africa’s high youth unemployment rate. That’s why we invest 10% of our profits into a bursary fund, providing financial services training to marginalized communities. We envision a future where young people have the skills and opportunities to build successful careers in the industry.
Tick All Your Boxes
Hiring managers do not remember bullet points — they remember the candidate who told a clean, three-act story about a hard problem they solved. We help you find those stories and tell them well.
